The Significant Furniture

It is the main project of the Aldo Morelato Foundation's activity.
In short, with this project Foundation pursues the following aims:
• to stimulate innovations in the sector;
• to discover and analyse evolving trends
• to promote a high quality production sector on international level among the operators in the furniture field and among customers;
• to co-operate in the re-launching of the Verona area as a furniture pole.

The indicated aims are ambitious and of strategic importance for the Verona furniture sector. As a practical support to these aims the following events have been programmed :
- the International Days of Study and Research at Villa Dionisi, a congress to analyse the international trends in the furniture field;
- the “Aldo Morelato Foundation ” International Competition on Applied Arts in Furniture for designers, students of Academies and Universities as well as professional designers.

In order to reach its goal the project has been developed for different target groups. First of all for designer, and artists, who will be contacted in order to take part in the contest; furthermore for companies and operators of the furniture sector, who will be mostly involved during the Congress and in the issuing of the final report, which will be published afterwards. The project however aims especially at the involvement of the people at large, who are basically the main target group in the process of re-launching the culture and the image of Verona furniture. The final result of this process is to consider Verona as an active pole full of stimulating events and proposals, giving the area additional value. Information will be given by the press but also through exhibitions during fairs (Milan and Verona) and at Villa Dionisi.
